Couch Surfing could help Amanda find like minded people who would welcome her for the stay. Amanda and the host would have time to get to know each other over messaging without sharing any personal information in the beginning.

Eric is a 32-year-old software engineer living in New York City, USA. He's an avid traveler himself and enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds. It gives Eric an opportunity to socialize with like-minded people despite his full time job. He gets to build world-wide connections.
